After the contract, what do we need to do so that our marriage is registered and we receive the marriage certificate?

Make sure the registration documents are signed by the relevant parties on the day of the contract, then follow the marriage officer's instructions for collecting the certificate. Usually the bride and groom, the wali, the witnesses and the marriage officiant sign the documents straight after the contract. Check the spelling of names and identity card numbers before signing, because correcting mistakes later is more complicated. Ask when and where the marriage certificate can be collected. After that, update your marital status in other records as needed, such as with your employer and bank. Keep the certificate in a safe place along with a scanned copy. See if the marriage certificate is lost.
