I am being abused and I am afraid that getting help will put me in more danger. How can I look for help safely?
Your safety comes before everything else, and you have the right to get help without being put in danger. If you are in danger now, call the police on 999 immediately. For advice, support and a safety plan, call Talian Kasih 15999 at any time. Tell someone you trust completely, and keep help information in a safe and private place. Sulh (mediation) or joint counselling is not suitable where there is abuse, because safety is not something to be negotiated. The Social Welfare Department (JKM) can help with protection and shelter. You are not to blame for the abuse, and asking for help is the right step. See domestic violence.
