🕊️ Conflict & resolution · #189

I am embarrassed to get counselling because I am afraid of being seen as a failed marriage. What do I do?

Seeking help is a sign that you are serious about saving your marriage, not a sign that it has failed. Just as we see a doctor before an illness becomes serious, seeing a counsellor early stops small problems from growing. Feeling embarrassed is normal, but keeping problems in until they explode does more harm than being seen by others. You do not need to announce it to anyone; it is a private matter between you, your spouse and the counsellor. Start with one small step: book one session and see for yourself. Many of the strongest couples sought help in hard times. See counselling.
