May a father offer his daughter in marriage to a righteous man?
Yes, and it was even the practice of the Companions and is mentioned in the Qur'an.
Umar al-Khattab r.a., after Hafsah was widowed, offered her to Uthman and then Abu Bakar r.a., before the Prophet ﷺ finally proposed to her; this account is narrated by al-Bukhari. The father of the two women of Madyan also offered his daughter to the Prophet Musa a.s. Such an offer is only a suggestion; the daughter still has the right to give her consent, and the man has the right to decline kindly. Use an approach that causes no embarrassment, for example through a friend or an intermediary. Choose on the basis of religion and character, as the Prophet ﷺ advised. See criteria.
