🕊️ Konflik & penyelesaian · #31
My spouse makes the same mistake again and again. Should I keep forgiving?
Forgiving is noble, but forgiving does not mean letting wrongdoing continue without change.
Allah praises those who forgive (3:134; 24:22), and the Prophet ﷺ advised looking at a spouse's other good qualities (Sahih Muslim 1469). Distinguish between ordinary weaknesses (forgetfulness, lateness, lack of romance) that call for patience, and serious repeated wrongs (violence, infidelity, failure to provide maintenance, addiction) that call for action. For serious ones, forgive in your heart but set clear conditions for change, involve a counsellor, and protect yourself and your children. Where violence is involved, safety comes first — contact the police 999, Talian Kasih 15999. See Counselling.
