Is online counselling effective for marital problems, or does it need to be face to face?

Online counselling can be effective and very useful when distance, busy schedules or embarrassment make face-to-face meetings difficult. For many communication and emotional issues, sessions by video call give almost the same benefit. Make sure you choose a legitimate service and a qualified counsellor, and a private, quiet place during the session. For serious problems or ones involving safety, face-to-face meetings or a local referral are more suitable. Try it first and assess whether it helps you open up. The convenience of online sessions should not become an excuse to delay the help you need. See counselling.
