We cannot afford a private counsellor. Is there free help for family problems?

Yes, there is free or subsidised help, so a lack of money should not stop you from getting help. The family counselling unit at the state Islamic religious affairs office provides counselling, and the Social Welfare Department (JKM) also helps families in need. For money and debt problems there is AKPK, while addiction problems can be referred to AADK. Some hospitals and mosques also offer advisory services. Ask at your state religious office about the services available and how to apply. Do not be shy to ask; these services are there precisely to help the public. See counselling.
