Our domestic helper is a woman from Indonesia, and there is my husband and a teenage son at home. What limits need to be kept?

A domestic helper is a non-mahram woman (ajnabi) to the husband and to sons who have reached puberty, so the limits of aurat and of being alone together (khalwat) still apply. Avoid the husband or son being alone with her at home or in the car. Give her her own room that can be locked, and space to cover her aurat comfortably. Arrange schedules so that matters involving the men of the house happen when other family members are present. Teach teenagers to lower their gaze and speak respectfully. These limits protect everyone, including the helper's own dignity. Treat her fairly and pay her salary on time. See aurat and limits.
