I am a foreign wife who is not yet fluent in the language here, and I find it hard to deal with my children's school and clinic. What can I do?
You do not have to be fluent first to start handling these things; begin with help, and learn as you go. Ask your husband to accompany you for the first few matters and introduce you to the teachers and clinic staff. Note down words and phrases that are used often, for example how to ask about medicine or appointments. Look for adult language classes at the mosque, in the community or online. Make friends with a local mother whose child is in the same class as yours; she is often the best helper. Your husband, for his part, needs to realise that this burden should not be carried by the wife alone. Every small step forward builds self-confidence. See communication and emotions.
