We live in Selangor but want to hold the akad in our home village in Kelantan. What is the procedure?

You can, but permission to marry must be obtained from the correct religious authority before the akad. Usually the application is made where the bride lives. A groom who lives in another state needs confirmation from the religious office where he lives. If the akad is held in another state, the religious office there usually needs that permission letter.
