Q&A › Character & conduct between spouses

🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #380

I like to share religious and current news online. Should I check it first?

Spreading something that has not been verified can spread falsehood even if your intentions are good, so checking first is a trust. Allah commands: “if there comes to you a wicked person with news, then verify it” (Surah al-Hujurat 49:6). Before pressing ‘share’, ask yourself: is this true, beneficial, and from a reliable source? Avoid spreading hadith without references, doubtful medical information, or reports that stir up anger. If you share something wrongly, correct it and apologise openly. Sharing less but accurately is better than a flood of uncertain information. Make your fingers as careful as your tongue. See family digital life.
