My in-laws like to compare me with a sibling-in-law who is more successful or hardworking. What should I do?
Those comparisons say more about how your in-laws talk than about your real worth. Everyone has different strengths and circumstances, and you do not need to become a copy of your sibling-in-law to be accepted. Do not compete with or belittle your sibling-in-law in return; that lowers your own dignity. Keep showing your own strengths calmly, without showing off. If the comparisons are hurtful and frequent, ask your husband to tell his mother that they wound you. Base your self-worth on effort and God-consciousness, not on your standing in other people's eyes. Keep a good relationship with your sibling-in-law so neither of you is drawn in by the comparisons. See in-laws.
