What does being 'the best of people to one's family' really mean in daily practice?
A person's true goodness is measured in their own home, not in how they treat outsiders. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best of you to my family” (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 3895). In daily practice, this means being patient with their quirks, gentle in speech, and helping without being asked. It means the same pleasant face at home as outside. Ask yourself: do the people in my home feel safe and valued with me? Start by improving the one habit that hurts them most. See everyday adab.
