Q&A › Preparation & choosing a spouse

🧭 Preparation & choosing a spouse · #111

The pre-marriage course feels too basic for me. How do I get real benefit from it?

Use the course as a starting point for conversation, not as a complete source of knowledge. A course of a few days cannot cover everything. Bring a notebook and write down one question from each topic to discuss with your future spouse. For example, after the session on maintenance (nafkah), ask: ‘How do we want to manage our two salaries?’ Use the Q&A time to ask about things that are really on your mind. After the course, continue with reading, classes at the mosque or sessions with a counsellor. See knowledge before marriage.
