How should husband and wife communicate well according to the sunnah?
Speak well or keep silent, listen carefully and be gentle — that is the basis of communication between husband and wife in Islam.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or keep silent" (Sahih Muslim 47). He was attentive to his wife's emotions; he once told Aisyah r.a. that he knew when she was pleased and when she was angry (narrated by al-Bukhari & Muslim). Practical habits: use a gentle tone, speak of your own feelings ("I feel…") rather than accusations, avoid raking up old mistakes, give praise and thanks, and set aside time to talk every day. Allah commands: "Say that which is best" (17:53). See Approaches to persuasion.
