I have debts. Should I postpone marriage?
Not necessarily; debt does not prevent marriage, but it must be managed and disclosed to the prospective spouse if the amount is large.
Assess whether the income remaining after debt repayments is enough for the wife's basic maintenance — maintenance is an obligatory right that cannot be neglected. If the debt is small and under control, go ahead with a modest budget. If the debt is large (for example a personal loan or credit cards), make a repayment plan first, cut the reception costs, and avoid taking on new debt for the sake of a feast. Being honest with your prospective spouse about financial commitments is a trust (amanah). Use the calculator and Maintenance.
