Q&A › Existing wife & prospective wife

🤝 Existing wife & prospective wife · #110

My heart is so broken that it is hard to pray and make du'a. What should I do?

When the heart is broken, worship is not an extra test, but a rope that connects you back to peace. Allah says: “in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest” (Surah ar-Ra'd 13:28). If prayer feels heavy, start with only the obligatory ones, even if short and mixed with tears; tears in sujud are themselves a prayer. There is no need to wait for your heart to be perfect first, because peace comes after you begin, not before. Make the prayer mat the place where you pour out your complaints, not where you punish yourself. If you feel far from Allah, that is not a sign that He has moved away. Slowly, small and consistent worship will restore you. See du'a & prayer.
