How do we make the atmosphere at home calmer?

A home becomes calm when its members look after their speech, their routines and their relationship with Allah every day. Lower your voices when speaking, keep the house reasonably tidy, and set an orderly routine for mealtimes, prayer and sleep. Bring the home to life with Qur'an recitation and zikir, and give salam every time you come in. Cut down screen time so there is room to talk and laugh together. Allah says: “He has put love and mercy between your (hearts)” (Surah ar-Rum 30:21); that loving atmosphere is nurtured through small, repeated acts. Start with one change this week. See everyday adab.
