What important matters should be discussed with a prospective spouse before marriage?

Discuss the matters that most often cause conflict: religion, finances, where to live, career, children and family.
Suggested list: (1) religious practice and goals for the Hereafter; (2) income, debts, savings and who pays for what; (3) housing — own, rented or with family; (4) the wife's career and the possibility of relocating; (5) number of children, family planning and how to raise them; (6) support for both sets of parents; (7) how to resolve conflict; (8) views on polygyny; (9) health issues. Transparency before the contract is a trust and reduces disappointment later. More guidance in Rights of husband & wife and Maintenance (nafkah).
