🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #400

How do we keep family ties with our parents and relatives when we live far away?

Distance is no excuse for family ties to be cut; it only changes the way, not the obligation. Allah commands us to reverence “the wombs (that bore you)” (Surah an-Nisa' 4:1), and regular calls are the easiest way today. Contact your parents often, not only when you need something, and ask about their health and needs. Send financial help if they need it and you are able. Involve your children so they know their grandparents and relatives. Plan visits whenever you have the chance to go home. Pray for them in your prayers. See family & relatives.
