After retirement, with the children independent, what new goals can we pursue together?

The golden years are a chance to invest for the Hereafter and fill your days with meaningful things, not just wait for time to pass. Set shared goals: improving your worship, memorising or studying the Qur'an, performing hajj or umrah if you are able, and giving more charity and ongoing good works (amal jariah). On the worldly side, you can contribute to the community, teach the young, or look after your health with light exercise. Sit down together and write a few goals you both enjoy. Make the rest of your life a field of reward, because the reward of ongoing charity keeps flowing even after we are gone. See preparing for death.
