A wife is entitled to receive the mahr, maintenance, suitable housing and good treatment from her husband.
The Qur'an commands husbands to live with their wives in kindness (makruf), and affirms that wives have rights balancing their duties. In the Farewell Pilgrimage sermon, the Prophet ﷺ urged fear of Allah in the matter of women, and said that their provision and clothing are the husband's responsibility in a reasonable manner. A wife's rights also include intimate maintenance, not being harmed, having her dignity protected, being taught religion and having her own property respected.
