My husband died leaving two wives. How are harta sepencarian and faraid divided between us?

Each widow first claims her own harta sepencarian, then the rest of the estate is divided by faraid. Each widow's harta sepencarian claim is assessed on her contribution during her own marriage, and it is settled before the estate is distributed. After that, the wives' faraid share is a single share, 1/8 if the deceased left children or 1/4 if not, and that share is split equally between all the widows. The wives' share does not grow with the number of wives. Gather marriage certificates, the death certificate and proof of contribution before going to court. Claims after a death are usually heard by the state Syariah High Court. See Harta sepencarian and the faraid calculator.
