🕌 Worship in the home · #151
Guests are still at our house when Maghrib comes in. Should we invite them to pray in congregation?
Yes, invite them warmly without pressing; it honours the guests and brings the home to life with prayer. Say something like, ‘It's Maghrib now. Let's pray together first, then carry on chatting.’ As the host, you have the right to lead, but you can also invite a guest who is older or recites better. Provide extra prayer mats, clean telekung (prayer garments) and an easy place for wudu'. Respect guests who choose to pray on their own or who want to leave quickly. For women guests, provide a comfortable space in the row behind or in another room. Small experiences like this are often remembered by guests longer than the food that was served. See everyday adab.
