🕌 Worship in the home · #94

How do we make using the siwak, or keeping the mouth clean, a daily family sunnah?

Using the siwak or brushing your teeth is an easy sunnah that brings reward when intended as following the Prophet ﷺ. He greatly loved the siwak, especially on waking, before prayer and before entering the house. Keep a toothbrush or siwak stick within easy reach near the place of wudu', and make it part of the routine before each prayer. Teach children from young so that caring for the mouth becomes a habit, not a chore. Explain that cleanliness is part of the religion and pleasing to the people around us. Intend this daily practice for Allah so that an ordinary thing becomes worship. Start today with one fixed time. See everyday adab.
