How can divorced parents agree on raising their children?
Children are best protected when both parents agree on the big things, even though they live apart and are no longer together. Focus discussions on the children's needs only: education, health, religion and manners, not old issues between the two of you. Agree on a few basic principles held in both homes, and accept small differences that do no harm. Use one calm, brief channel of communication for matters about the children. Do not argue about upbringing in front of the children. If every discussion turns into a quarrel, a sulh officer or counsellor can help you talk it through. The shared goal is children who are righteous and at peace. See communication & emotions.
