⚖️ Polygyny: rulings & justice · #83

My marriage has problems. Can I practise polygyny to escape them?

Polygyny is not an exit from marital problems; it usually adds problems for someone who cannot yet manage the existing ones. Unresolved problems will follow you to the second household, and now involve more hearts that can be hurt. Face the real causes first: communication, finances, or distant intimacy. Get help from a family counsellor to repair the existing relationship. If you still consider polygyny later, do it with the right intention and the ability to be just, not as an escape. Saving the marriage you have is often nobler and closer to the aims of the religion. See counselling.
