Several people owe money to the deceased. Who is entitled to collect it now?
Debts owed to the deceased are part of the estate, and that right now belongs to all the heirs. The executor or an appointed representative of the heirs can collect them on behalf of everyone, not one heir personally. Check the deceased's notebooks, messages or bank transfers to identify who owes money and how much. Contact them politely, inform them of the death, and ask them to confirm the amount. If a debtor is genuinely struggling, the heirs can defer or forgive the debt with everyone's agreement. But the share of heirs who are not yet adults cannot be forgiven on their behalf.
