🕌 Worship in the home · #102

Can we set a goal of completing the Qur'an (khatam) together as a family?

A shared goal of completing the Qur'an unites the family's hearts on the Book of Allah and gives everyone a sense of achievement. Set a realistic target, for example a few pages a day for each member who can already read, and track progress on a simple chart. Those who are not yet fluent can listen and follow along. Choose a fixed time, perhaps after Maghrib, so it is not missed. Celebrate the completion with a small gathering and supplication, not with waste. Do not make it a frightening burden; if someone falls behind, help them catch up without scolding. Intend it for Allah, not to show others. See educating the family.
