Can I send money to my parents in my home country from the money my husband gives me?

Maintenance money that has been given to you becomes yours, and you may help your parents from it as long as the household's needs are not neglected. But money your husband entrusts to you for groceries or the children is different; use it for that purpose, or ask his permission if you want to use it for something else. Being devoted to your parents is a noble deed, and most husbands appreciate a wife who is open about it. For example, say: ‘I'd like to set aside a little each month for Mum and Dad back home.’ Discuss a reasonable amount so that there is no misunderstanding. If your parents are in great need, your husband can also help as an act of kindness. See maintenance of parents.
