⚖️ Polygyny: rulings & justice · #46
Is a woman who dislikes her husband taking another wife regarded as rejecting Allah's ruling?
No. Feeling jealous and disliking one's husband marrying again is human nature, and is not the same as rejecting or denying Allah's ruling.
The Prophet's ﷺ own wives felt jealousy, and he responded to those feelings gently. What is not permitted is denying or mocking the permissibility of polygyny as part of the Shariah. A wife may disagree, voice her concerns, and even seek a condition in the taʿliq or ask for divorce if she is harmed, without this affecting her faith. Likewise, a husband may not use religious proofs to force his wife to "accept it" (redha) or accuse her of weak faith. See Women's rights and Counselling.
