Boleh , jika dengan kerelaan hati isteri sendiri tanpa tekanan. Allah berfirman: "Kemudian jika mereka dengan suka hati memberikan kepada kamu sebahagian daripada mas kahwinnya, maka makanlah (gunakanlah) pemberian itu sebagai nikmat yang lazat lagi baik." Halal itu bergantung pada kerelaan sebenar; suami tidak boleh memaksa, mendesak atau mengugut isteri melepaskan maharnya. May a wife waive or return her mahr (dower)?

Yes, if it is by the wife's own free will without pressure.
Allah says: "But if they willingly remit to you any part of their mahr, then enjoy it (make use of the gift) as something wholesome and pleasant." Its lawfulness depends on genuine consent; the husband may not force, press or threaten his wife into giving up her mahr. It is best for the waiver to be recorded in writing to avoid disputes later.
