🕌 Worship in the home · #79

How do we involve the children in the qurban (sacrifice)?

Make the qurban an experience they see and feel, not just something they hear about. Tell the story of the Prophet Ibrahim and his son in language suited to their age. If circumstances and their age allow, take them to witness the slaughter so they understand the meaning of sacrifice and compassion. Involve them in distributing the meat to neighbours and those in need so they learn what sharing means. Explain that the qurban is a sign of gratitude and obedience to Allah. For the conditions and procedure of the qurban, consult the mosque or religious office in your area. See educating the family.
