I do not work outside the home but I run the house and care for the children. What evidence can show my contribution?
Contribution by looking after the home and family is recognised by law, but it still has to be shown with evidence. Act 303 s.122(4)(a) refers to the contribution of the party who did not acquire the asset to the welfare of the family by looking after the home or caring for the family. Helpful evidence includes school and medical records of the children that you handled, dated notes, photographs, letters of support, and witnesses such as relatives or neighbours who know your role. If you ever helped in your husband's business without pay, gather records of that work too. Start with a list of assets, then match each one with its evidence. See Harta sepencarian.
