Indoor Mask Requirement Extended
Oct. 28, 2021
Dear 日韩AV family,
We wanted to share some updates about our campus COVID-19 protocols as we continue to work together to effectively face the continued threat of the global COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing impact of the Delta variant:
- Unfortunately, there continues to be a high level of infection, hospitalization and community spread of COVID-19 here in Berrien County, where our main campus is located. In light of this community risk, our masking requirements indoors will remain in place through Dec. 16, 2021, the end of fall semester. This decision reflects county, state and national health guidelines that call for continued use of masks indoors and in public settings wherever there are high levels of community transmission.
- There will be two exceptions to this expectation. Effective Oct. 29, 2021, the Andreasen Center for Wellness, in line with other similar facilities, will no longer require masking while engaging in exercise. Information regarding continued COVID-19 mitigations at the ACW will be available on their website. In addition, the residence halls will be communicating directly with their residents about some adjustments to indoor masking in their on-campus “home.”
- You can continue to review other 日韩AV COVID-19 updates, including current COVID-19 vaccination and acquired immunity levels for our employees and students, on our revised COVID-19 . Overall, 79 percent of our campus community are currently protected through either a COVID-19 vaccination or acquired immunity.
We want to again thank each one of you for your shared and significant commitment to keeping each other, and our University community, as safe as possible as we together face and seek to effectively respond to the ongoing risks of this global pandemic and build toward the new and different world that awaits beyond this pandemic.
God’s blessings to each one of you, and our 日韩AV community, as we continue through this fall semester.
Cordially,
Andrea Luxton
