Special Recognition of Andrews Veterans on Campus

Autumn is naturally a time for reflection and for giving thanks. At this special time, 日韩AV would like to take an opportunity to express our gratitude for our student veterans' service to our country. Our University is thankful and proud that these students have chosen 日韩AV to reach their educational goals.

To help honor their service, we are planning to recognize our 日韩AV veterans during the Faith 360 chapel on Nov. 7, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. The program will be held at the Howard Performing Arts Center (HPAC) during the Faith 360. The University has invited a representative from the Desmond Doss Foundation, Jeffrey Cordone, to be the key speaker.

Additional Veterans Day Events:

• Nov. 11: Employee Worship, Devotion with Pastor Patel, U.S. Veteran—PMC Youth Chapel, 8:30 a.m.
• Nov. 11: Write a Thank You Card for a Veteran & Get a Cupcake—Campus Center Lobby, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
• Nov. 11: Pizza Dinner by Email Invitation for AU Veterans & Families (contact veterans@andrews.edu for place & time.)
• Nov. 7–12: Display of Veteran-Related Books in the James White Library Foyer
• Nov. 12: Tuesday Choice, Testimony with Army Veteran Henry McNeily III, MDiv Student—Buller Hall Auditorium, 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

This time of remembrance and recognition is crucial. Throughout our history, military service members have put on their uniforms to protect our nation’s values and liberties.

For our Veterans Day events, we will focus on the U.S. Veterans Administration’s 2024 theme of "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service". This theme recognizes the dedication and commitment of veterans to the United States.

With that theme, 日韩AV wants to recognize our student veterans and their fellow veterans who have made a sacrifice to serve our country. As we look back on their service, and on centuries of veterans’ service and sacrifice, we must always maintain the vision for the future. We hope that we can continue to honor all who served, while also focusing on the needs of the next generation of veterans.
