Ambassador Rally - Wellness Ambassadors
Thurs, Sept 19, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Wellness Ambassadors of Certified Well Departments are invited to a rally in the Beijing Classroom (Andreasen Center for Wellness) each semester  to enjoy a catered lunch and get the latest wellness updates. Plus some time to connect and relax! This event is by invite only. To become a Wellness Ambassador, email wellness@andrews.edu.

Fitness Class Bingo Challenge
Attend group fitness classes all week to acheive as many "bingos" as possible for your chance to win awesome prizes life personal training packages, massage gift certificates and more! Bingo cards will be available at the front desk beginning Sunday, Sept 29.

AU Community Health and Wellness Expo
Andreasen Center for Wellness
Sunday, Sept 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The free event is for the whole family and will feature local businesses and campus departments providing activities, samples and services geared towards health and wellness. Enjoy time with a trained therapy dog, a chair massage, or a delicious treat from BOBA. Students in attendance can enter to win an Apple Watch.

Vegan Cooking Demo
Beijing Classroom, Andreasen Center for Wellness
Sunday, Sept 29, 11 a.m.
Presented by Dr. Anne Dudley DO, DipABLM, a Lifestyle Medicine certified physician and pediatrician and Alaina Elder-Correa, chef instructor and organizer for Corewell Health Lakeland culinary medicine classes, and Diabetes Prevention lifestyle coach. No sign up required. Co-curricular credit will be available for students.

Self Defense Class
Bridgetown Studio, Andreasen Center for Wellness
Sunday, Sept 29, 3:30 and 5:15 p.m.
Join us to learn life-saving self defense skills and get a great workout! Physical Therapist and self-defense expert, Aristede Dukes, will instruct participants in Krav Maga style techniques that can be utilized effectively in a life-or-death situation. This event is open to the community, and spots are limited. Please note this is the same class twice. Participants may sign up for one session only. Duplicate entries will be canceled. Co-curricular credit will be available for students.

Black Light Spin
Bridgetown Studio, Andreasen Center for Wellness
Monday, Sept 30, 8 p.m.
Experience a great Spin workout like never before! Don't forget to wear your favorite white and neon exercise attire. Attendance counts towards Fitness Class Bingo. To attend, you must have your Andreasen Center membership activated and in advance.

Open Air Movement Therapy

Certified Well Department Fall Luncheon - Employees of Certified Well Departments

One delicious perk of being employed in a Certified Well Department is the annual CWD Fall Luncheon. Join fellow CWDs for a delicious, catered lunch at Dining Services, pick up your CWD goody bag and hear the latest wellness updates. Details on how to RSVP will be provided to wellness ambassadors as we get closer to the event date.

 

ACW Indoor Triathlon - Everyone

2025 - Date TBD

Swim, bike and run to complete the first ever Andreasen Indoor Triathlon! Not sure you can tackle all three challenges? No problem! Compete with a team of 2-3 individuals. All racers will receive a t-shirt and participation medal, with top finishers receiving special awards.

When signing up as a team, use Discount Code ACWTRITEAM23 for each team member to receive 20% off of the individual rate. Do NOT use this code if you are racing as an individual. Individuals who use this code will be refunded and recharged.

This is a timed event. Racers will be given 10 minutes in the pool, 20 minutes on a stationary bike, and 15 minutes on a treadmill to accumulate the greatest distance, with 10-minute transitions.

Register by Feb 5 to receive Early Bird pricing.

SUMMER WELLNESS EVENTS

In a Pickle 5K: Run, walk or volunteer at the 4th annual "In a Pickle 5K" on Father's Day, June 15, 2025 at 9 a.m.  The race will begin and end at the Andreasen Center for Wellness (ACW). All participants will receive a t-shirt and custom medal, not to mention a post-race pickle (obviously). Sign up coming soon! Email rachelkeele@andrews.edu to volunteer. Volunteers will also receive a free t-shirt.

Gardening Get-Togethers: Join the AU Wellness Ambassadors as we beautify outdoor areas on campus. We will meet from 11:30-1:30 p.m. (2025 dates and locations TBD). Those who attend at least one get-together will be invited to an end of summer luncheon. Please watch for more details!

Berrien Springs Pickle Festival: No one does the 4th of July like Berrien Springs! Experience small-town celebration at it’s finest with games, vendors, a pickle “tasting room” and more fun for the whole family.

Andreasen Center Classes: While our summer schedule is a bit lighter, there are still great opportunities for social fitness at the ACW. If “big” classes scare you, this is quieter time of year is perfect to try something new, like Spin, Kickboxing, Soar Bungee Fitness and more.
