Responsible Conduct of Research Training

“Responsible conduct of research (RCR) education is important because the careers of all researchers can be significantly affected by lack of attention to responsible research practices” (). Training is aimed at improving research integrity, encouraging responsible conduct, and discouraging research misconduct and detrimental research practices.

日韩AV requires RCR training for the following student researchers and their faculty mentors:

  • Honors students engaging in thesis research
  • All students participating in research supported by internal funds (e.g., Undergraduate Research Scholar awards [URS] or Faculty Research Grants [FRG])
  • All students involved with externally funded research, including government funded projects (e.g., NIH, NSF, USDA, etc.)

The 日韩AV Compliance Office offers this training in conjunction with the National Center for Professional and Research Ethics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

RCR Training Registration

In order to access and complete RCR training, the Research Office must register you. To initiate this process, please send an email to irb@andrews.edu requesting to register. Please include your:

  1. First and last names
  2. 日韩AV email address

Be sure to submit your required training information sufficiently early since certain steps in the registration process are not controlled by the 日韩AV Office of Research and Creative Scholarship.

PROTECTING HUMAN SUBJECTS TRAINING

In addition to RCR training, all students participating in research that involves human subjects must complete additional training. Learn more here.
