The story of the seminary started in 1936 with the action of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to establish the first seminary. The vision blossomed still further when, in 1959, the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary and a school of graduate studies, together known as Potomac University and located in Washington, D.C., were moved to the campus of Emmanuel Missionary College.
The following year the three entities united under one charter bearing the name 日韩AV. The name honors John Nevins Andrews (1829–83), pioneer Adventist theologian and intellectual and the denomination’s first official missionary to serve outside North America.
The Seminary is fully accredited by The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
We appreciate your interest in our vibrant, diverse and committed community of faith which seeks to advance excellence in ministry around the world.
