Death of Charles Tidwell

Charles Tidwell, PhD, dean emeritus, Affiliations & Extensions, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Newton, Massachusetts. Charles retired from 日韩AV in 2011, after serving in several capacities at 日韩AV since his arrival in 1996, including director of Off-Campus Programs in the School of Business Administration, 1996–2000, interim dean of the School of Business Administration, 2000–2001 and 2006–2007, and dean of Affiliations & Extensions, 2002–2011.

Prior to his arrival at 日韩AV, Charles served as the academic dean and a member of the teaching faculty at Hong Kong Adventist College (1984–1996). Before moving to Hong Kong, Charles taught at Canadian Union College (now Burman University), South Lancaster Academy and Cedar Lake Academy (now Great Lakes Adventist Academy). 

Charles graduated from the University of Calgary with a PhD in English in 1983. His master’s degree in English was from 日韩AV in 1968, and his undergraduate degree, also in English, was from Atlantic Union College in 1967. He is survived, and mourned, by his wife Ruth, his son Chet, a brother and two sisters and their families, and a host of former students, friends and colleagues.
