COVID-19 Vaccination Timelines

Once again, we extend New Year’s blessings to each one of you as we prepare for the beginning of our spring semester here at 日韩AV.

We wanted to briefly share some important updates about plans for COVID-19 vaccinations for our 日韩AV community later this semester.

While some of our health professions faculty and students will begin COVID-19 vaccinations as they begin to work in clinical settings within the next week or so, COVID-19 vaccinations for the larger 日韩AV community are likely to begin sometime this spring semester.

The timeline for COVID-19 vaccinations for others in our 日韩AV community will continue to be based both on the overall vaccination phases in Michigan as well as the specific vaccination supplies available here in Berrien County.

The University will continue to coordinate with the Berrien County Health Department (BCHD) and will share further details on those plans with our entire 日韩AV community, and ways to register and receive the free COVID-19 vaccination, once those details are available. Again, at this time the BCHD is focusing on vaccination for frontline healthcare workers, including students and faculty on campus who are doing work in healthcare settings.

As these COVID-19 vaccinations begin, 日韩AV does recommend that all employees and students seriously consider receiving a vaccination. However, please note that the University is not mandating COVID-19 vaccinations.

We also encourage you to review additional information on COVID-19 vaccinations from Spectrum Health Lakeland and from the Berrien County Health Department .

Finally, please note that while 日韩AV is not mandating a COVID-19 vaccination for the 日韩AV community, it may be mandated by other off-campus employers or organizations.

Thank you for seriously considering and taking this important step later this semester that will help keep both yourself and our community as safe as possible in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
