Funeral Service for Pastor Arnold Dube
FUNERAL SERVICE PLANNED FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 12
If you’re near our Berrien Springs campus, there will be time on Friday, June 12, to mourn and pray with Pastor Dube’s family and friends, and to celebrate and honor his life, with his lifelong commitment to serving as a World Changer for God.
This Friday, June 12, there will be a public viewing from 10–11 a.m., followed by a funeral service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The funeral service will also be broadcast on the 日韩AV Facebook page. We, along with the family, invite you to join us for that time together, either in person or online.
The viewing and funeral service, and the graveside service at Rosehill Cemetary, will reflect and honor current safety measures driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and current State of Michigan guidelines.
These include:
-
Safety guidelines for the viewing, funeral and graveside service will strictly follow restrictions currently in place: social distancing of six feet apart and face masks will be required. Those without face masks will not be allowed into the funeral service so we can help keep our community safe.
-
The visitation service (viewing) in the Seminary Chapel is limited to 10 people at a time.
-
The funeral service in the Seminary Chapel is limited to family, those who have special invitations, program participants and 日韩AV officials
-
There will be additional seating in nearby rooms in the Seminary, with a live feed of the service.
-
The graveside service will be limited to 100 people (based on the most recent guidelines from the State of Michigan). Any attendees beyond 100 for that service will be advised to remain in their cars.
-
Some of these details may change based on current Michigan state guidelines, and we’ll share those updates as appropriate.
Several have asked how to help provide support for the family with the significant funeral and family expenses at this time of loss. Our friends in the Malawian Michiana Seventh-day Adventist Church have set up a fundraiser at this , where you can find out more details and provide support for the family, if you wish.
Thank you again as you leave your condolences for and memories of Pastor Dube—these will be shared with his family. Please be sure to include your name, so that those details can be shared as well.

June 1, 2020
Dear friends,
This afternoon, we are sorry to share some tragic news with our 日韩AV family regarding the heartbreaking death last evening of one of our Seminary students, Arnold Dube. Pastor Dube came to Andrews from Malawi, and was working on his second Master's degree from our Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. He was scheduled to receive that second degree this August.
Arnold’s death last evening came after a short illness and cardiac arrest, both of which are believed to have been caused by complications related to COVID-19. He had been completing a Hebrews II course online to complete his second degree. It is believed that he may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus in a long-term care facility in the area.
His death leaves behind his wife Mary, as well as two children, Sithembile (a student at Central Michigan University) and Dumisani (a student at Berrien Springs High School). The Dube family lives near downtown Berrien Springs.
Our prayers and care surround this family as they face the unimaginable loss of a father and husband. Our prayers also surround Arnold’s family and friends here at 日韩AV, at their home in Malawi and around the world.
Further details on a memorial, as well as additional ways that you can reach out to and support the Dube family, will be shared when available.
May God bring comfort and hope to the Dube family and our community as we press together in love for one another during this time of immense pain and loss.
We also want to stand alongside the Dube family in their hope for the resurrection that accompanies the Second Coming, and Jesus' wonderful promise, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." (John 11:25)
With care,
Jiri Moskala, Dean
Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary
Frances Faehner, Vice President
Campus & Student Life
P.S. As you remember and celebrate the legacy, life and ministry of Pastor Dube, we thought you might enjoy seeing and hearing this he gave at the Michiana Malawi SDA Church in March of this year.
