Dear Dede: It is with great sadness that we learn of John's death. Three of our four children played in his summer band, and for several years we spent Sunday afternoons going to St. Joe for those concerts, with often a trip to Wilbur's for ice cream between the afternoon and evening concerts. John took a personal interest in these kids, and at least Beth visited in his home a time or two with another teenage band friend. And in more recent years, we have been thrilled by your very generous gift of the HPAC. Bob and I usher there a lot, and we attend many concerts. We often think of what a great asset this is to 日韩AV, to the community, and to us personally. And this year we have a grandson who is a freshman violin-performance major here, who chose AU partly because of the opportunities offered by this building. He loves it here, is one of three rotating concertmasters in the AU Symphony, and is a WAUS announcer. As grandparents, we enjoy watching him thrive, and again we give thanks to you for much of this. I pray now that God will give you a tangible sense of His presence and comfort during this difficult time. With love, Madeline Johnston
