Come join us for the Wind Symphony Spring Concert! The program is entitled “Diversions” and will feature two new works commissioned by our group: the first is “Fighters of Fate,” composed by La Sierra University composition professor Gary Kuo, followed by “Diversions,” a five-movement clarinet solo with wind band composed by Robert Spittal and featuring our adjunct professor of clarinet, Jason Gresl. We will also feature two graduate conductors: Edgar Luna conducting Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Jesters” and Katia Nikolaus conducting H. Robert Reynolds' transcription of Morten Lauridsen’s gorgeous choral piece “Contre Qui, Rose.” Also, students Pedro Falcón and Betania Cañas will perform “Duo brilliant Guillaume Tell” for flute, oboe and band. The evening will also include several other classics, including Percy Grainger’s delightful “Children’s March,” Leonard Bernstein’s mischievous overture “Slava!” and Paul Dukas’ “La Péri Fanfare.”
