Position summary

The Department of Biology at ÈÕº«AV is looking for a highly qualified biologist to fill a tenure-track position, beginning fall 2025. The successful candidate will demonstrate capacity for effective college biology teaching, productive research and research mentoring, and scholarly service; good interpersonal skills; and commitment to the integration of faith and learning. The specific field of expertise is negotiable, but the successful candidate will demonstrate ability to teach broadly in biology. 

Qualifications summary

Qualifications

The university seeks vibrant applicants dedicated to integrating the SDA Christian faith with their field of biology.  A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the biological sciences from an accredited institution is required.

Physical demands

A successful candidate will meet the physical demands described here as essential functions of this job. 



Candidates must be able to transport and arrange standard biology teaching laboratory equipment and supplies.  Occasionally, faculty members need to move and lift boxes or containers with  supplies of up to 30 lbs.  



The individual will stand for periods of time in a classroom or laboratory. Work on a computer or electronic device for long periods of time.

Work environment

The work environment in Price Hall would include a private office, biology teaching and research laboratories, conference rooms, classrooms, a departmental office, and a 130-seat amphitheater.  Work in close proximity to other faculty, staff, and students.  ÈÕº«AV hosts a modern multi-building academic campus located in a campus-wide arboretum.  Most students live on campus.
